Christmas Greetings from Flagstaff by The Kelly Broaddus Team of REMAX Fine Living
Tis the season for giving and sharing! If you’re headed to Flagstaff over the holiday season for recreation from other areas of the state, or if you’re returning home to Flagstaff for the holidays, there’s snow in the forecast through Christmas Day. Flagstaff is Arizona’s official Winter Wonderland! Get complete details and driving directions at the Winter Wonderland web page.
Conditions at the Arizona Snowbowl are excellent for downhill skiing and snowboarding. The Flagstaff Nordic Center (cross-country skiing and snowshoeing) is open, and there’s more to do, detailed at the Center’s website, including some overnight accommodations for the more adventurous.
There are other designated snow play areas (sledding) on the outskirts of town, listed with driving directions at the Winter Wonderland web page. If you come with friends, consider car-pooling, as traffic and parking are challenging at these destinations due to their popularity!
There are rustic lodges where you can enjoy a longer stay. See the Arizona Mountain Inn, Mormon Lake Lodge (30 minutes southeast of Flagstaff), and Happy Jack Lodge (52 miles southeast of Flagstaff) websites for details and activities.
You can also book your accommodations at the Winter Wonderland page.
There’s so much more to do in Flagstaff when it’s time to head inside and warm up, from fine dining, to pubs and craft beer breweries, nightlife at many different venues, and shopping in unique shops all over town. Check the latest issue of Flag Live! for up to the minute details on bands, dancing and other entertainment.
Please be safe on the highways, and please slow down in winter conditions. We’ll be still be waiting for you to arrive.
