Here’s what to do if you’re in a pickle about hiring a new agent.

Are you in the market to hire an agent, but you’re conflicted about hiring a friend/family member who’s brand new to the business? You want to give them a chance, but you also want to protect your investment. It’s a tough situation to be in, so I wanted to share my thoughts on the subject to give you some perspective on the dilemma.

I had someone call me recently who was in this exact predicament. Their friend was a new agent, had come out to look at their home, and the homeowner asked me for advice on how to handle the situation. I told her what I would also say to you: You work your whole life to own a home, and it’s probably the biggest asset you have. Would you entrust your biggest asset to somebody who could lose tens of thousands of dollars on it? Is it worth giving your livelihood?

If they’re really a good friend or a family member, they should understand that you want to be a good steward for your investment by hiring someone with a proven track record of success.

"Is it worth trusting your largest asset to a novice?"

That’s just my two cents for those of you in a situation like this. I would encourage you to reach out to talk more about the strategies that we can use to get you top dollar for your home using our 23+ years of experience in the business.
